MatterFi, creator of AmericanFortress, announced that its parent company has been granted U.S. Patent No. 12,412,162 B2 for a hybrid cryptocurrency system that enables send-to-name transfers in on-chain and off-chain environments.

The patent addresses cryptocurrency vulnerabilities related to losses from phishing attacks, SIM swaps and stolen wallets. While users deal with complex wallet addresses and check that their browser or clipboard has not been compromised, the system could reduce these risks and improve usability.

The patented system, known as FortressNames, allows users to enter another user’s name so that the wallet automatically generates a new, unique receiving address, known only to the sender and recipient, for each chain and token. Technically, it is a decentralized stealth address system based on one-way non-interactive cryptographic proofs, similar to a decentralized payment service for cryptocurrencies.

“Crypto users have had to choose between security and usability, such as verifying addresses and avoiding clipboard hijacking,” said Mehow Pospieszalski, CEO of AmericanFortress. “This patent seeks to restore the ideals of sovereignty, privacy and freedom in crypto, with a foundation of programmable and private trust.”

The patent covers dynamic address calculation in decentralized finance (DeFi), making it possible to distinguish users while maintaining cryptographic privacy. For now, the company is processing 8 other patents and generating new intellectual property.

The technology also applies to autonomous AI agents for verified and private transactions. The AmericanFortress SDK (Software Development Kit) makes it possible to integrate value movement into applications, platforms and AI agents.

“Even AI agents, built to automate the future, are currently transacting blindly,” Pospieszalski noted. “Our technology changes that,” he added.

Finally, this system is being adopted by Litecoin Foundation, Eqifi, Trustswap and Brinks Global. In addition, investors and advisors include DNA Fund, Brock Pierce, Michael Terpin, Lunar Digital Assets, Sarson Funds and Moon Pursuit Capital.
