Racerloop, the arcade racing game created by studio Maniac Panda Games, has launched today, March 17, its free Pre-Alpha for PC, which is now available for download from its website.
With a total of 12 different ships and 5 exciting tracks, players will be able to fine-tune their driving skills across a variety of settings such as spaceports, arid deserts and intergalactic locations. The game is being developed by a team of professionals who have worked on international hits such as Wipeout and at studios such as Gameloft.
DIVE INTO RACERLOOP
Outer Ring is a science fiction universe set thousands of years after our current timeline. In this new era, the former inhabitants of our planet, known as the Earthlings, have managed to achieve interstellar travel and now roam the Indabi Nebula alongside other species.
Although many things have changed over the centuries, one remains unchanged: our race has a natural instinct that drives us to push the limits of speed. Starting with chariot races and evolving into Formula 1 grand prix, humanity is now devoted to a new format: the best-known competition in the entire galaxy, Racerloop!
Getting started with Racerloop is very simple: go to its website and download the Pre-Alpha. Once you place the file on your computer’s desktop and run it, choose your preferred controls and get ready for your first race. Countless tracks with no speed limit… Tune up your ship and wait for the green light on the starting grid!
In this Pre-Alpha you can add chaos and excitement to the competition thanks to five types of power-ups:
- Ghost power-up: become invisible and immune to attacks.
- Electro-Magnetic pulse: trigger your opponents’ brakes with a magnetic pulse.
- Missile: it’s a missile. No complications.
- Recharge your turbo with the Boost Refill.
- Use the Mini Black Hole to teleport and advance quickly along the track.
In addition, players can try the Quick Race mode to compete against artificial intelligence, or the Time Trial mode to try to set the fastest lap, pushing skills such as acceleration, overtaking and risky drifts to the limit.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM RACERLOOP?
Once development is complete, the game will allow players to customize ships with different parts and components, and to swap and trade them with other players. This way you will be able to climb the competitive ladder and gain an edge in both single-player and multiplayer races.
In addition, Racerloop plans to add an optional blockchain layer outside the game, which will allow players to trade items -both parts and ships- as NFTs and earn GQ (Gallactic Quadrant) tokens as rewards.
