Daniel Santos, CEO and founder of woonklylabs.com, has been nominated at the Europe AIBC Awards 2021 as crypto influencer of the year. While these past few days we learned of its nomination as Crypto community of the year and DeFi project of the year, and at the same time announced the new projects we will be launching in the coming weeks, our great driving force joins the wave of good news and will compete with personalities such as Trone Vays, John Karony, Richard Buettner, Mohammed Carrim and The Moon Carl.
Mr. Santos, as he is known on social media, has managed to turn his dream into reality. A born entrepreneur even as a child, when he set up his stall of seashells and handicrafts at seaports, Daniel has grown through trial and error. This strategy led him to fail on several occasions and to learn from the experience.
However, he always had a clear mindset: to help the people around him, even if he himself had to lose at some point. Thanks to this, after leaving his hometown, he managed to turn his first ideas into technology projects and startups with elite entrepreneurs, taking part in the project to create the semantic web or web 3.0 in 2008.
Faced with a lack of support, he flew to Cancún to fulfill his dream of living in Mexico. He landed with barely enough resources to eat, which led him to gather a series of anecdotes that he later brought to his YouTube channels ‘Club de Emprendedores’ and ‘Mr. Santos’. His life began to change when the owner of a hospitality company trusted in his potential and gave him a job opportunity.
It was there that Daniel Santos met the people who became his team and the current founders of woonklylabs.com. Immersed in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies since around 2011, it was not until five years ago that he managed to develop the idea of Woonkly. Thus was born the idea of advertisers giving advertising money directly to users, eliminating intermediaries.
This idea evolved over these last few years until it became what it is today. Once settled in this environment, Mr. Santos and his team began discovering the gaps in the market, so they started creating products to help the community. To do so, they discarded the idea of using third-party tools in favor of their own systems. That is how they went from being a single product to becoming a Venture Builder.
In this way, they have been adapting to market demands and creating the products that have been needed, such as a cross-chain DeFi platform, where assets can be traded on different blockchains, and the NFT social network, which will launch before the end of the year. Daniel Santos has not only shone as an entrepreneur. He has also done so through his role as a social media influencer, with two YouTube channels he has grown at the speed of light. He started while still living in Cancún with around 5,000 followers, and took off with Woonkly in 2017 when he won the ‘Plug and Play’ Accelerator Award from Silicon Valley in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
At that point he decided to create his flagship YouTube channel, Mr. Santos, on which he reached 100,000 users in two years. He currently has 300,000 subscribers, with unstoppable growth without needing to advertise or promote himself outside the YouTube environment.
