Latin America reaches the end of 2025 as a key stage for the global digital economy. However, we face a major question: have we reached the definitive maturity of the market, or are we on the verge of a new wave of disruptive innovation?

To answer this, today we speak with Karina Caudilla, Regional Manager of OKX in LATAM, one of the most authoritative voices in the ecosystem. The goal of this conversation is clear: to analyze this crucial moment under the theme ‘Crypto 2025: a year-end between consolidation and new opportunities’, and to understand how investors and users in the region can prepare for what lies ahead.”

In a recent column, you mention that “As we approach the end of 2025, the crypto ecosystem in Argentina and Latin America is going through a stage of maturity.” From a more technical perspective, what concrete signals do you see that allow us to say Latin America is entering a new cycle?

What we see is a convergence of regulation, infrastructure and user behavior. This year institutional interest increased, there was greater regulatory clarity in markets such as Brazil, and adoption stopped depending exclusively on macroeconomic volatility. Something key also took hold: a better-informed user who no longer seeks only to preserve value, but to interact with protocols, wallets and decentralized solutions. The demand for more intuitive and secure products suggests we are entering a cycle where expansion depends less on hype and more on real utility.

The recent launch of “OKX Pay” is one of the most relevant innovations of the year. From a Web3 perspective, what sets this solution apart within the digital payments ecosystem?

OKX Pay sets out to solve something very simple: making moving crypto as easy as sending a message. The tool lets users send and receive assets instantly, at no cost and, most importantly, without having to give up control of their funds, because it works directly from their own wallet. That is key for the region. In Latin America there is still a lot of friction in traditional payment methods, and any solution that reduces steps, time and technical barriers has an immediate impact. What’s interesting is that OKX Pay isn’t aimed only at advanced users; it’s designed so that anyone can use it, even without understanding all the technical details behind Web3.

3.

You talk about a “silent consolidation” toward the end of 2025. What trends do you think will shape the coming months for users and for projects in the ecosystem?

I think we’ll see three clear trends. The first is integration: more interconnected products and a much more unified Web3 experience. The second is simplification: more efficient on-ramps, more usable wallets and tools that reduce friction when interacting with protocols. And the third is institutionalization: traditional players adopting crypto infrastructure and hybrid models. None of this will look like an “explosive leap,” but rather a steady improvement that will allow more people to use crypto solutions in their daily lives, even without realizing they are using blockchain technology.
